Lit.: Ten Ryou

The second highest Division in Oozumou.

Its name means ten Ryou, Rikishi used to be paid in Ryou, gold coins, in ancient times and it is said that Rikishi's salary consisted of ten Ryou, apparently a hefty sum in those times.

Only Rikishi in Makuuchi, the highest Division, and Juuryou are considered professionals. Rikishi in the Divisions below are taken to be Minarai, students, and thus subservient to the real masters in the top two Divisions.
